Bristol Rovers manager Graham Coughlan said:

It wasn't easy (avoiding relegation), it was really, really tough, and you could physically see the lads, as time was whittling down towards the last games of the season, getting tight, tense and nervy because it was a tough situation.

I've inherited it, I had to run it along the way we've run it, otherwise we would've had no chance. Ideally I would have liked to have played the beautiful game but, at the end of the day, the job I was given was to maintain League One status and we've done that today. So I'm relieved, I'm proud and I'm a happy man.
