Coca-Cola Championship Matchday Eleven: Crystal Palace v Barnsley- Live on Sky!

Team News

Barnsley are forced into one change from the 4-1 hammering of Doncaster for tomorrow's televised game at Selhurst Park. Defender Darren Moore serves a one match suspension after being sent off in the derby win two weeks ago. This should see Stephen Foster moving across to partner Dennis Souza in the heart of defence. Bobby Hassell is set to get the nod ahead of Marciano Van Homoet for the right back slot after impressing when coming off the bench against Doncaster.

Hugo Colace is also available again after an ankle injury and could replace Diego Leon if Davey decides to tinker. Jamal Campbell-Ryce and Iain Hume are expected to start but doubts remain over their fitness after returning from playing for Jamaica and Canada respectively. Jon Macken is also pushing to replace Maceo Rigters upfront.

Likely Line-Up:

Heinz Muller

Rob Kozluk

Stephen Foster

Dennis Souza

Bobby Hassell

Jamal Campbell-Ryce

Diego Leon/Hugo Colace

Anderson De Silva

Martin Devaney

Iain Hume

Jon Macken/Maceo Rigters

Head to Head

Overall Barnsley have a pretty decent record at the Palace, winning 11 of their 25 visits- the same as Palace- but the recent record down in South London is woeful. The Reds have lost on their last four visits without scoring a goal.

Last season The Reds were comfortably beaten 2-0 at Selhurst Park and then endured a boring 0-0 draw Oakwell.

It is also well worth noting that since the League One Play-Off Final in 2006 The Reds have won just once on Sky.

This Season:

Both sides have made poor starts to the 2008-2009 season but it will have come as more of a shock to Palace fans. Former Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock led the Eagles to the Play-Off last season but only after former boss Peter Taylor had them flirting with relegation at the start of the season. And it looks like Palace will have to do it the hard way again. Palace won just one of their opening eight games and also were hammered 4-0 by Leeds in the League Cup. The revival may have started now though with the Eagles flying to wins in their last two games, 1-0 at home to Charlton and 2-0 at rock bottom Nottingham Forest. Palace have also only suffered one home defeat- 2-1 to Plymouth.

Barnsley meanwhile are on that unenviable run of nine wins from 51 Championship games and they have picked up just one point and one goal on their travels so far this season. The 4-1 win over Doncaster proved the players were behind the manager but if the away form continues as it is, it will be another season of struggle.
