Dunham: "If Barnsley are turfed out of the Football League, I can sue"

Matthew Dunham, administrator at RSM Robson Rhodes, has revealed that the club will be unable to play in any domestic competition next season unless Doyle settles Barnsley's debts.

Following yesterday's meeting of creditors, Dunham said "Under the terms of the contract, he has to take all the steps needed to ensure the club obtains Football League and Football Association approval. If he doesn't do that, he will have broken the deal and I could sue him".

Doyle has been given four weeks to come up with proposals to clear the club's debts. The Inland Revenue and Customs and Excise are owed around £650,000 and there are a number of football creditors: ex-manager Steve Parkin is waiting for a £100,000 compensation payment while Huddersfield (Dean Gorre), Sunderland (Chris Lumsdon) and Fulham (Kevin Besty) have yet to receive transfer fees for the players that were sold to the club last season.
