FA Cup Second Round Replay Bradford City 3-5 Barnsley (AET)

Reds Boss Andy Ritchie gave his thoughts after the second five star showing in 3 days.

" I think the best team won and we were better overall. We were unfortunate to come in a goal down at the break because we had the better chances and probably should have scored.

We are very pleased to come through this game victorious the end and now we have a home tie with Walsall to look forward to.

We had not really conceded from set pieces at all this season so hopefully we will have got it out of our system now. We are normally very solid from corners and free kicks but tonight they undid us a little although David Weatherall is very good in the air. Having said that I think the person who was supposed to be marking him knows all about it now.

The lads are really starting to be a threat up front. We are unpredictable, quick and move the ball fast. Paul Hayes has hit a rich vein of form, Martin Devaney is flying and Marc Richards is creating havoc out there. Chris Shuker has been in fine form for a while so we do look dangerous.

Confidence plays a big part in football and the lads will take a lot from that result"

Andy Ritchie was talking to the Official Barnsley F.C website at www.barnsleyfc.co.uk.

Barnsley Boy says: Well what can you say after that. Like buses really aren’t we. Wait five years to score five in a game and then two five-goal results come along at once. Hayes, Devaney and Shuker seem to be flying at the moment which is particular important for Hayes and Devaney as they seem to be confidence players. Little disappointed to concede 3 goals from set pieces but hey I’m just been picky now! Well Done AGAIN Lads!!!
