Former Reds defender Tony has signed for Steve Parkin's Rochdale after proving his fitness following his recovery from a knee injury.
The experienced left back played well for the Reds last season before injuries kept him out for the last half of the season.
Former Reds captain Peter Handyside has now joined Conference Premier side Northwich Victoria.
Meanwhile former Reserve team striker Griff Jones is on trial at Wrexham after being released in the summer.
