After last night's 'performance' against Scunthorpe, the Reds need Dean Gorre and Tony Gallimore back as soon as possible.

Midfielder, Gorre is making good progress following knee surgery but physio Robert Magnusson told the official Barnsley FC website.

“Dean is making better progress than we initially expected but we are still unable to say anything definite at this time. We do not know when he will be able to play again with any certainty.

“He has been doing well. Two days ago he started some running work outside and has now progressed to 12 minute bursts. He is also doing a lot of running work in the swimming pool to help build his balance and stability through the knee.

“Dean damaged his meniscus and had part of it removed so we are still keeping our fingers crossed that he would be ready in around four or six weeks”.

“Tony has been doing some good work this week. He was a little anxious to get back early on in his rehab and pushed himself a little too hard but we gave his three days off and he has come in feeling much better.

“He is doing some hard work but we are now moving him on a little slower to make sure that there are no more setbacks. I would still expect him to be fit to play in five or six weeks”.
