Injury Update

Reds captain Paul Reid is set to return in Barnsley's final pre-season friendly at Bury tomorrow.

Reid missed the defeat to Wigan through illness but should have recovered to travel to Gigg Lane.

Full back Marciano Bruma is out for up to 4-6 weeks however and so will miss the opening few games of the season.

Reds Physio Richard Kay told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:

"Marciano has an hour long operation on Tuesday during which a plate and screws were inserted into his second metacarpal on his left hand.

"He will have the plate and screws in his hand now forever.

"He now has a full range of movement in his hand and will see the specialist again next week to determine whether we will be able to remove the Plaster of Paris and have him in a splint. He will then be able to go into non-contact training.

"At the moment it looks as though he will be out for between four and six weeks".
