Newry Skipper No-Go

Newry City captain Richard Clarke has seen his hopes of a move to the Reds has broken down due to 'too many agents had contributed to scuppering a deal'.

Clarke had been linked with Sheffield United, Bury, Cheltenham and Gillingham but had been to Oakwell but the central midfielder is now staying at the Showground.

In other news, former Reds centre back Matt Carbon has begun training with MK Dons. The solid defender had been playing for the NZ Knights in New Zealand.
