Owls fanzine Out of the Blue asked Tykes Mad some questions before Sunday's clash

Owls fanzine 'Out of the Blue' will be on sale on Sunday.

1. How do you truly view SWFC?

As a mediocre League One club. Sorry, I realise at this point I'm meant to refer to Wednesday's glorious past and perhaps talk about your impressive stadium, massive fan base, illustrious history and God given right to be amongst the Premiership elite but lets be honest here...

2. Are you revelling in the misery of our current plight?
I can honestly say I'm not revellng in your current plight. Yes, there are a few of our fans who seem to be as interested in seeing our rivals lose than their team win but we have enough problems of our own to worry about. Lets face it, it was much more enjoyable playing each other in the Premiership than this awful division.

3. Honest answer and why....Wednesday or United?
Personally, it can change by the week, usually influenced by whichever set of (idiotic) supporters have dominated the airwaves on Praise or Grumble.
The managers also make a big difference - Chris Turner was seen as a bit of a laughing stock, particularly after his "getting Wednesday into Europe" comments. It's too early to pass judgement on Sturrock so, in light of the fact that everyone hates Warnock, I'd have to say Wednesday at the moment.

4. Ken Bates or Peter Ridsdale? Why?
Ridsdale - okay he's hardly the most trustworthy figure to have at the helm of your club and his track record leaves a lot to be desired. I'm currently wondering whether the just launched 'Barnsley Bond' for 'True Reds' is a good idea, a rip off or a panic measure. But at least he's not a Cockerney...living in Monaco.

5. Is Paul Hart the most dreary manager in the Football League, or does he just come across that way?
Paul Hart is undoubtedly a miserable old sod. But then, if you had to watch the current Barnsley side play every week, I'm sure you would be too. He made the fatal mistake of admitting that his experiences at Forest meant that he had "lost some of his enthusiasm for the game". Thanks, Paul, that's good to hear! I mean, you've heard him on the radio...can you imagine him giving his players a passionate team talk?

6. Is Danny Wilson still a God-like figure at Oakwell?
Kind of - it's come full circle really. He was a messiah-like figure when he took us to the Premiership, but became an overnight Judas when he left to go to Wednesday. Since then he's not had the best time of it (although we all enjoyed the job he did at Wednesday) and, in light of all the misery we have to put up with since, the fans have started to looked back at his tenure with fond memories. Plus, with the host of managers we've had since (Spackman, Parkin, etc), I think most of our fans would have him back tomorrow .....or sooner.

7. Do you think you will ever win at Hillsborough?
Yes, I do think we'll win at Hillsborough sometime and soon! The last time we won was in the 1982/1983 season (old English Division 2) when we won 1-0. I cant remember who scored. I also have a vague recollection of a win in a dodgy Cup competition (Simod maybe?) at Hillsborough in the early 1990's when we won on pens after a 3-3 draw (Hirsty unsurprisingly scoring a hat-trick for the Owls). I do remember your then manager Big Ron was so confident of victory he spent the first half commentating on Sky!

8. Where do you think we will finish under the new guidance of Paul Sturrock?
Mid-table. And then you'll sack him because he's not got you promotion...maybe. Actually I reckon Sturrock could do a good job next season if hes still in charge and the fans and board are united behind him.
