Barnsley have today secured the signature of Manchester United’s highly rated striker Ashley Fletcher on a one month youth loan.
The 20 year old who was born in Keighley in West Yorkshire has been brought to Oakwell following the departures of Conor Wilkinson, Simeon Jackson and Michael Smith.
Fletcher is believed to have a bright future at Old Trafford and netted a hattrick for their Under 21 side in a 3-2 victory over Rochdale back in September whilst also netting on his England Under 20 debut.
He first came to prominence with the Manchester outfit’s Under 16 side where he scored nine times in 10 games to win elevation to the Under 19 side.
Fletcher will remain at Oakwell until the 6th February and is available to play in this weekend’s Johnstones Paint Trophy match against Fleetwood.
