Barnsley moved to within three points of safety with their third successive Championship victory.
It is the first time they have won three successive Championship games for the first time since August 2016 when they defeated Rotherham, Preston and Wolves.
Remarkably it is the first time they have won three successive Championship matches all with clean sheets since February/March 2001 when they defeated Crystal Palace, Crewe and Grimsby.
They have kept back to back Championship away clean sheets for the first time since January/February 2017 when they won 1-0 at Rotherham and drew 0-0 at Reading.

However they have won a league game at Hull for the first time in six visits, since coming from 2-0 down to win 3-2 in August 2006.
This is also the first time since that 2006-2007 campaign that they have completed a league double over the Tigers - they followed the 3-2 away win with a 3-0 home win that season.
Barnsley won a midweek match (Tuesday or Wednesday) for the first time in 12 since defeating Peterborough on Boxing Day 2018 (Wednesday) it is their first midweek league victory in the second tier in 17 such matches since a 4-2 win at Burton in October 2017.
Barnsley led a Championship match at half time for the eighth time this season, they have now gone on to win seven of those matches, only failing to do so at West Brom.
Indeed seven of their eight league victories have come when ahead at half-time, the only exception being last weekend's victory over Middlesbrough.
The Reds have now won each of the last seven games in which they have scored the first goal of the game (Fulham, Huddersfield, Crewe, Millwall, QPR, Middlesbrough, Hull), last failing to do so against Reading in December (1-1)
Cauley Woodrow scored his 14th Championship goal of the season - it is the eighth league game this season in which he has scored Barnsley's first goal of the game.
He has scored in 12 separate Championship games and Barnsley have only lost three of those.
Woodrow is the first Barnsley player to reach this tally in the Championship since Chris O'Grady scored 15 in 2013-2014. Woodrow has played 29 league games this season. O'Grady had 11 goals after 29 games of that season.
He has reached 14 goals for The Reds in the second tier in fewer appearances (29) than any player since Wayne Biggins (25) in 1993.
Gerhard Struber made a half time substitution whilst counterpart Grant McCann made two, the first time three half time changes have occurred in a Barnsley game since November 2017 when Reds boss Paul Heckingbottom made three at Reading.
In both meetings this season McCann has made a double half time change for the Tigers.
This was Barnsley's second Championship double of the season - the same total they managed in the whole of their last Championship season - 2017-2018.
Hull are now winless in their last nine league games, losing seven of those. Their longest winless run since February 2018 (also nine).
Barnsley won an away league Yorkshire derby for only the second time in nine (W2 D3 L4), with the last occurring in August 2018 - 2-0 at Bradford.
This was their first away Yorkshire derby triumph in the Championship since January 2017 - 1-0 at Rotherham.
For the second successive game, Barnsley's goal came without a direct assist from a team-mate. Indeed in two of the last five matches the Reds have netted due to a goalkeeping error.
Barnsley had 22 shots in the game - their most since the Boxing Day home game with West Brom (also 22), it is their most on the road in the Championhip since September 2016 when they had 26 at Wolves.

Hull manager Grant McCann said:
"The big thing for us is we've got to stay positive. We know we're in a fight now, we're in a scrap and we need to make sure we roll our sleeves up and meet this challenge head on.
"There's no getting away from it, we've been disappointing over these last nine games and we're not making excuses - it's not about Jarrod or Kamil or the injuries.
"We just haven't been good enough. Tonight we didn't threaten at all - we had a couple of half-chances in the second half.
"There's been so much negativity surrounding us for the last two to three months, the players need to block themselves from that and focus on the next game. That's our only target."
