Gr-eight Pre-season so far!

Barnsley moved just one step away from a perfect pre-season by making it eight wins from eight in a specially arranged behind closed doors match with a Hull City XI.

Strikes from Onome Sodje and a welcome one from the returning Michael Coulson sealed victory in a game where fitness coach Dave Kelly was forced to play, and Iain Hume made his first start since his horrific injury in November.

Not one member of the Reds squad is likely to start the season opener at Sheffield Wednesday in a week and a half, but all the side with the exception of Kelly and Hume have figured prominently in this unblemished pre-season.

The Reds broke the deadlock just before half-time when a great pass from Hume unlocked the Hull defence and Sodje burst through to notch his second goal of the summer.

On 76 minutes Coulson sealed the win on his first appearance since suffering a terrible knee injury in January. He entered the fray for Sodje on 70 minutes and six minutes later and planted an effort into the bottom corner.
