Reds Winning Streak Ends With Hungary Draw

Last updated : 20 July 2018 By Rob Miles

Barnsley's 100% pre-season start ended as the Reds finished their Hungarian tour with a draw against Budaörsi.

The Hungarian second tier side who finished fourth in 2017-2018 became th second side to take the lead against Barnsley this summer when their left winger found space in the box and cracked an effort into the roof of Jack Walton's net.

But unlike against York when Barnsley fought back to score seven times they could only manage an equaliser in the second half when a lovely passing move produced a goal (not for the first time in pre-season) and it was finished off by George Moncur for his second goal of the summer.

Head coach Daniel Stendel again picked two different sides for the game with only Walton appearing in both halfs, however both teams ended the match with 10 men after Kieffer Moore was on the end of a bad challenge that saw the Budaörsi player dismissed but Moore joined him down the tunnel for his reaction.
