View From T'Other Side: Part Three

If we are being honest your only chances of silverware this season are the FA Cup and Champions League, do you think because of this Rafa Benitez will play a strong side on Saturday?

I think Rafa will play a strongish side, but rest a few bigger names with Inter in mind. Rafa, in my opinion, rates the Champions League as his number one priority and only really seems to take the FA Cup seriously when it's one of his only available options, as we saw in his first season at Liverpool, when he played a weakened side against Burnley and got embarrassed when Djimi Traore scored THAT own goal.

There has been a well-documented battle behind the scenes at Anfield this season, do you think the game on Saturday could be marred by fans chanting against Hicks and Gillett?

Well the chants have already started and i can see them carrying on Saturday, the first game i remember them being sung was the game against Aston Villa at home, in which we drew 2-2. And the fans stayed behind for half an hour after the Sunderland game telling the Americans, in shall we say unpleasant terms, exactly what they thought of them. I can see them intensifying to, the longer they put off DIC's reported take over.

The last time Barnsley came to Anfield was nearly 11 years ago and we won 1-0! Has anything around the stadium changed in the intervening years?

Anfield hasn't really changed that much in the eleven years. The atmosphere is still brilliant, at it's best it's argubely the best around, and it's still an intimidating place for away sides to visit. However, this season it's not been the fortress it once was. We've picked up more points away from home than at Anfield, and that's worrying. "Smaller" teams have come to here this season and got a result such as Birmingham, 0-0, Wigan, 1-1, and of course Havant and Waterlooville, it may not have been a result as such but no one would have expected that now would they! I think your boys can come to Anfield with that in mind and give it a real go.

Are there any Barnsley players you are particularly worried about?

Well with our defensive casualties at the moment, i think you're attacking players could cause us some headaches. From what i've seen of Campbell-Ryce, i believe he can cause us some real night mares at the back. He looks quick, tricky, direct and a constant danger down the right. A real winger, exactly what we could do with!

Finally a score prediction?

Hmm, I'll stick my neck out and go for a 3-1 Liverpool win.

Many thanks to Luke for his answers, may the best team win tomorrow!!
