Barnsley have taken a step towards the future by offering four of their impressive Academy players professional contracts.

Goalkeeper Lukas Lidakevicius, defenders Brad Kilburn and Jake Scott, and winger Sam Patterson have all been offered deals that ties them to Oakwell for the next 12 months.

Most Reds fans will be familiar with Lithuanian born keeper Lidakevicius who has been on the first team bench for the previous five matches due to injuries to Luke Steele and David Preece, but Kilburn, Scott and Patterson have all impressed for the Under 18s who are third in the FA Academy Premier League Group D after winning 11 of their 24 matches so far this season.
