The Reds second string received a home humbling from near neighbours Huddersfield Town.

Town forged into the lead on 14minutes through veteran Martin McIntosh.

Kyle Letheren was in two minds over Adnan Ahmed's freekick and McIntosh beat him to it head Town in front.

The scores were doubled on 40minutes through a stunning strike from Mark Hudson.

The midfielder controlled the ball on his chest 30 yards out and then hit a thunderbolt past Letheren.

2 became 3 four minutes into the second half when a slip from Ryan Jennings allowed Jon McAliskey to run through and poke the ball past Letheren.

McAliskey got his second and Huddersfield's 4th with 10 minutes remaining as Malcher threaded a pass through for him to again race clear and finish.

Malcher got on the scoresheet in stoppage time when Ahmed pulled the ball back for him to slot home.
