Reserves: Barnsley 2-3 Huddersfield

Last updated : 16 October 2008 By Rob Miles (barnsley Boy)
Two goals from rising star Jamil Adam was not enough to claw back a 3-0 deficit against local rivals Huddersfield who included ex Barnsley youngster Luke Beckett and ex target Keigan Parker.

Town took the lead on 14 minutes when Daniel Broadbent raced clean through and slipped the ball past Kyle Letheren.

Two goals in two minutes after the break from Jack Smith and Chris Atkinson looked to have put the result beyond doubt but Adam and his fellow teenager Reuben Noble-Lazarus (heard of him?) were not quite finished.

On 71 minutes Lazarus sent in a great cross which Adam headed home and then 12 minutes later another fine cross this time from Steven Bennett was also met perfectly by Adam. The Town keeper kept it out but Adam bundled over the rebound.

There was just not enough time to grab another.
