Both Barnsley's Under 21 and Under 18 sides secured 3-2 victories over Coventry City- a first victory of the season for the Under 21s and a fifth on the spin for the Under 18s.
Kelvin Etuhu, Rhys Oates, and Jordan Clark grabbed the goals for the Under 21 side whilst George Maris and a brace from Brad Abbott got a fifth successive win for the Under 18s.
The Under 21s game was marred by an injury to Danny Rose, with the 18 year old being forced off before half-time after a late challenge. Rose has forced his way into Keith Hill's senior side in recent weeks, making two substitute appearances this season, but required oxygen before being stretchered off after receiving a boot to the face.
The Under 18s meanwhile fought back from 1-0 down to take 2-1 lead against their Sky Blue counterparts. They were hauled back to 2-2 before a late Abbott penalty secured the victory.
In other news today, former Barnsley winger Adam Hammill has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a paramedic.
The 24 year old Scouser who left Oakwell for Wolves in a £500,000 move in January 2011, but is currently on loan at Huddersfield, was arrested in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of Sunday morning and has been released on bail.
