Barnsley F.C Season Review 2009-2010

Last updated : 09 May 2010 By Rob Miles (BarnsleyBoy)

Barnsley’s excellent end to 2009 was brought to an abrupt end with a woeful start to 2010. They lost four of their five games in January, starting with an FA Cup Third round exit at Scunthorpe. The 1-0 loss extending their poor run at Glanford Park. They then suffered back to back league defeats, 3-1 at bogey side Coventry and a very disappointing 2-1 home defeat to local rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

Hugo Colace handed them their first win of the new decade as they saw off Leicester 1-0 at Oakwell, but a poor month was rounded off with a 1-0 defeat at Reading, where The Reds failed to muster a single shot on target.
