Barnsley F.C Season Review 2009-2010

February would prove to be the final highlight for Barnsley as they would finish the season with just one more win.

March started in horrific fashion as the Reds were thumped 6-1 at champions elect Newcastle but looked to have stemmed the bleed by drawing 0-0 with Crystal Palace and defeating Nottingham Forest 2-1 to keep them clinging onto their top half placing. They wouldn’t hang onto it for long as they finished the month with three defeats and a draw. They were defeated 1-0 at Ipswich and then hammered 5-3 at Bristol City in a game where both sides defences were disgraced, and a desperately disappointing 1-0 home defeat to Doncaster. To top it all off, Barnsley finally got to play the full 90 minutes against Plymouth at Home Park at the end of the month, but could only draw 0-0!
