Adam Deal Moves Closer

Reds boss Simon Davey is edging closer to making his first serious signing of the summer with the capture of Glasgow Rangers' Charlie Adam.

Davey has already had one bid rejected for the midfielder but if Davey goes up to around £500,000, he should get his man despite interest from Blackpool where Adam spent time on loan last season.

Meanwhile there could be a shock return to Oakwell for winger Michael McIndoe.

McIndoe signed for The Reds in the summer of 2006 for a fee of around £150,000 but he stayed just four months, scoring five times in 20 appearances before moving to Wolves. He then left for Bristol City in the summer of 2007 and has been roundly booed on his two trips back to Oakwell since.

But now he could be set for a sensational return as City become more determined to land Anderson De Silva. The Robins have had two six figure bids turned down and it is now believed Davey wants around £1m plus McIndoe for the deal to go ahead. Davey has been quoted this week as saying City boss Gary Johnson has been like "a dog with a bone" in his pursuit of Anderson.
