October:

When Darren Moore was dismissed for a professional foul in the 49 minutes sections of the crowd started shouting for Davey's head. But what came after was one of the most amazing comebacks in the club's history. The Reds scored three goals in 19 minutes. Foster headed the equaliser, Campbell-Ryce scored a goal of the season contender after running from his own half and Jon Macken slotted home. A wonderful curler from Hume three minutes from time capped a cracking win.

A shoddy 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace in front of the TV cameras dampened spirits but they were massively revived when Barnsley beat Sheffield Wednesday for the first time in seven years thanks again to Hume and Campbell-Ryce. This was followed by a credible 0-0 home draw with Bristol City before the Jon Macken sealed a first double over Doncaster since the 1970s with the only goal at the Keepmoat stadium.

After a terrible August and September, October was a month to savour.
