  • Ricardo Vaz Te bagged his second goal for new club West Ham United last night to salvage a 1-1 draw at home to Watford. Vaz Te, 25 ( Reds career,2011-2012, 12 goals in 24 appearances) struck in the 87th minute with his second goal in six games to save the Hammers blushes. It will be classed as two points dropped for Sam Allardyce’s side as victory would have sent them to the top of the Championship.

  • Jacob Mellis is set to be sacked by Chelsea after being involved in letting off a smoke bomb at the club’s academy complex on Friday. Mellis, 21, (Reds career 2011, two goals in 15 appearances) has been implicated along with Billy Clifford and both are set to see their prospective burgeoning careers at Stamford Bridge ended by the end of the week.

  • Striker Marc Richards could be on the lookout for his 10th club after Port Vale revealed they are set to enter administration for the second time in eight years. Vale, who currently sit ninth in League Two but will drop to 15th with the 10 point deduction that comes as a consequence of entering administration, have had to call in help after plunging £4m into the red. Richards, 29 (Reds career 2005-2007, 18 goals in 69 appearances) has been a key figure for the Staffordshire side since signing in 2007 and has netted 62 goals in 169 appearances.
