The winning goal was a landmark occasion as it was the first ever career goal for 17 year old Rebuen Noble-Lazarus. Luke Steele also ensured he played every single minute of every single league game this season.

The win leaves Barnsley in 17th position with 56 points- It is their highest points tally at this level since the 199-2000 season when they reached the Play-Off Final having finished fourth with 82 points. It is their highest league finish at this level since the 2000-2001 season when they finished 16th. The 1-0 success was their 14th win of the season- the same amount as they won last season too. Their record of 18 defeats was their lowest at this level since 1999-2000 whilst the number of draws- 14 was the most in the second tier since the relegation season of 2001-2002 when they had 15 stalemates. The final goal-difference of -11 is the best since 1999-2000. The number of goals scored- 55 is the highest since 2001-2002.
