After the departure of Josh Brownhill and rumours about Conor Hourihane’s exit Barnsley supporters have finally received some good news today as talismanic winger Adam Hammill put pen to paper on a new two year contract.

The 28 year old was a key component in The Reds rising from the foot of the League One table in December to a double Wembley triumph and promotion after he returned to the club he had previously graced from 2009-2011 in November.

The Liverpudlian who played for Wolves, Middlesbrough and Huddersfield after his first Oakwell exit scored on his second debut, in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy triumph over York and netted a further eight times in 33 games including two stunners at the national stadium to guide Barnsley to victory over Oxford and Millwall.

There has been one Oakwell exit today however with striker Harry White signing for National League side Solihull Moors for an undisclosed fee.
