Barnsley have made their first signing of the January transfer window by landing Alex Kiwomya on loan from Premier League leaders Chelsea.
The 18-year-old striker has arrived from Stamford Bridge for an initial one-month loan and is seen as a direct replacement for Devante Cole who has returned to Chelsea’s fellow league leaders Manchester City following a successful four-month spell at Oakwell.
Kiwomya is a current England Under 19 international and has been a regular in the Chelsea Under 21 side.
He knows South Yorkshire very well having originally started at Rotherham before being snapped up by Chelsea in 2010.
