Anderson may Return

Barnsley boss Simon Davey has not ruled out making a permanent move for Brazilian midfielder Anderson De Silva but has admitted big money offers for players such as Heinz Muller and Brian Howard will have to be considered.

De Silva has been a revelation during his loan stints at Oakwell from Everton this season but the player has returned to Goodison Park after his current loan spell expired after Saturday's defeat at Bristol City. Davey admits he would love the player to return- if finances permit.

He told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:

"I have spoken with David Moyes but I will keep that conversation to myself. Anderson is a player I would love to have back at Oakwell but we may have to buy him in January.

"We could take him back on loan but that would depend on Everton but I would love to keep him. "I would buy him but that would depend on whether we could afford him".

The Welshman knows though that it could be almost impossible to turn down Premier League offers for key players such as Muller and Howard who have attracted interest from Middlesbrough, Everton and Fulham to name but a few. With average crowds under 10,000 Davey admits money is tighter than at most Championship clubs.

: "We have to be realistic and when you look at the recent history of this club and how we were nearly back in administration three years ago, we could not turn down any massive offer for any of our players.

"We also have to accept that our attendances are not matching our league position and unless we were getting crowds of 18,000 or 20,000 then we could not afford to turn down a massive bid for anyone."That is just the situation we are in".
