The Reds have swooped into the loan market to sign West Brom's Portuguese left back Miguel Tininho on a months loan. It had been rumoured that a West Brom left-back was headed for Oakwell and many people thought it to be Neil Clement but Davey has decided for another foreigner.

Miguel Angelo Karim Simões Fazenda, commonly known as simply Tininho was born in Mozambique to Portuguese parents and he subsequently moved back to Portugal to forge a football career.

He begun at Beira Mar where Blackpool striker Stephen McPhee played for a couple of years, where he made 56 league appearances, scoring once. He moved to West Brom in the summer for £230,000. He has made one league appearance and two Carling Cup appearances since his move.

Reds boss Simon Davey said to barnsleyfc.co.uk:

"We have brought in a left back because we were left a bit short when Dominik Werling and Lewin Nyatanga left. We needed more balance to our squad and bringing Miguel in has given us that.

"He certainly fits the bill.

"Miguel gives us another option on the left side of our defence even though he is not guaranteed a starting place. He will spend the next month with us and we will see how he goes".
