Attacking Midfielder To Sign Next Week

Reds boss Simon Davey has confirmed that he will sign an attacking midfielder next week when the loan market re-opens.

Davey has already boosted his squad in the January window after signing David Lucas, Adam Eckersley, Dwayne Mattis and Hungarian strike duo Peter Rajczi and Istvan (or Steven) Ferenczi.

Speaking this afternoon to Barnsley World, Davey said:

"We have done well this month to strengthen the squad and have brought in a goalkeeper, a defender, two midfielders, a winger and a couple of strikers.

"We are still probably one player away from a complete blend throughout the squad and we will be adding an attacking midfielder who can get forward to score goals when the window opens for emergency loans last week.

"That will give us the right blend of players we need for the run in".

One problem that does arise is the possibility of Player Of The Season - attacking midfielder Brian Howard. On his way out? Lets hope and pray not.
