Former Reds favourite Ian Banks, manager of the Unibond Premier Division's bottom club Wakefield & Emley has resigned following the club's midweek defeat against Blyth Spartans.

Ian had only been manager at Wakefield & Emley for three months following the departure of Ronnie Glavin back to Barnsley.

Ian expressed regret in throwing the towel in after only 18 games but felt the strain on himself, his family and the run of bad results was too much to bear.
