Barnsley 1-1 Hartlepool United: Post Match Reaction

Last updated : 26 December 2005 By Rob Miles (barnsley Boy)

" I think we could have had two or three in the fist half. After the break we did not come out well and started slowly. We gave Hartlepool the impetus and never really recovered. We did not get a grip on the game.

We have spoken about it in the dressing room and we have to start a lot brighter. We just did not do the things we did well in the first half.

We were ok in the first half and really could have had two more penalties but no one is ever going to give three in a game. The second half was not as good and we did not do the good things. We let them come at us"

Andy Ritchie was talking to the Official Barnsley F.C website at www.barnsleyfc.co.uk.

Barnsley Boy says: Second game in a row where we have conceded early on in the second half, concentration levels need to be upped. Had to miss the game today due to work so obviously can’t comment too much ( this also explains the lack of a match report). Could really have done with 3 points today with a tough trip to Bournemouth to come on Wednesday. Such is the lack of quality in this league though means The Reds move up to 4th with this draw. 3 points Wednesday night and we will certainly have a tasty local derby with Huddersfield on our hands New Years Eve.
