Barnsley 2-0 MK Dons: Post Match Reaction

Last updated : 22 January 2006 By Rob Miles (barnsley Boy)

" We just had to be patient today and break them down. They were very strong, organised and disciplined as you would expect but we had to keep goong although we knew we would get through in the end.

I thought we should have had a penalty in the first half although games like these are always littered with contentious decisions. That's football and apart from that i think the referee handled it well.

We played well today especially when you consider our last two games were like dishwater really. We put them under pressure and forced mistakes. They panicked on the ball and eventually we got the rewards.

I cannot why teams come out to play for a draw at the end. I would rather go out to get the three points and try to win. We eventually won the game and it was three points we needed.

Nick Colgan made some great saves right at the end but he is a superb keeper and does things like that week in, week out in training"

Rick Holden was talking to the Official Barnsley F.C website at www.barnsleyfc.co.uk

Barnsley Boy says: Again at times it wasn’t pretty to watch but we are using to teams coming to Oakwell and sticking 10 men behind the ball. The players kept going though and we finally got the points. Good display
