Barnsley have apparently had a £400,000 bid for Colchester United midfielder George Moncur turned down.
The 22 year old scored 14 goals for the U’s this season but couldn’t help them avoid relegation and the club confirmed last week that they would allow the former West Ham trainee to leave this summer if a suitable bid came in.
However that price appears to be £500,000, and indeed Charlton, who were relegated from the Championship had a £150,000 bid turned down last month.
SKY reports that Moncur has already held talks with bosses at Oakwell but The Reds will have to up their bid if they are to recruit him.
