Barnsley desperate for Colgan to play against Brentford

The Reds want goalkeeper Nick Colgan to play in next month's League game against Brentford despite a likely call-up for the Republic of Ireland's World Cup qualifying tie against France on the same day (Saturday 9th October).

If Shay Given and Paddy Kenny stay injury free, Ireland are likely to release Colgan to play for the Reds as they did earlier this month against Hartlepool in similar circumstances.
