Bristol City manager Nigel Pearsonsaid:

"We needed a win and we got one. But unfortunately after the QPR game at home, it was all about refereeing decisions and I suppose if I'm totally in the moment I'm wondering what's happened today as well. I don't know if it was a penalty but if Han-Noah's pulled his shirt, it's a stupid thing to do. Simple as that.

"We've shown qualities today that have been in question and that is a bit of spirit and a bit of moral fibre and a desire to keep us out of the net. It wasn't pretty at times and we've played a lot better and lost, but the result was important today.

"I'd have taken a point, I'd have taken a clean sheet and a point just because when we had the chances we didn't really take them. We had a few good chances, I don't want to paint a picture that we didn't have opportunities but we did. It didn't look as though it was going to be our day but the players and the fans got the reward for sticking in the game."
