Chesterfield manager Danny Wilson said:

"At half time I stated the obvious, it could have been a defining game of the season today, we didn't want to overstate it but with a win you'd have thought other results could have gone our way, which they have.

"It's not the end of it, but with the game being at home should we not have won it could have been pretty disastrous.

"The moral and the fans would have been disappointed, but the character second half was enormous. The couple of changes we made gave us the impetus that we didn't have in the first half, when we were nowhere near the tempo that we want to play at.

"In the second half it was quite the opposite and I thought that for large periods we made their defence look quite ordinary, and that's what we can do."
