Barnsley v Fleetwood

Team News

With Barnsley being back at home Danny Wilson will probably recall Conor Hourihane, Dale Jennings and Kane Hemmings to his starting line-up.

As Sam Winnall felt a twinge in his hamstring during the warm-up on Saturday he will probably only be risked from the bench.

Interesting Stats:

Barnsley and Fleetwood have met only once before, sharing in the spoils in a goalless draw at Highbury back in September.

Fleetwood are more than holding their own in their first ever season at this level of English football and reside just two points outside the playoff places.

They have lost only three of their past eight matches, winning three. To complete the list of threes Graham Alexander’s side have also kept a trio of clean sheets in that run.

Fleetwood have won two of their past four away games, losing only one. In fact the only grounds they have lost at in their last eight on the road are the homes of the division’s top four sides.

Overall though the Cod Army have lost eight matches away from their Highbury home, (six of which came in their first eight away matches), only Crawley (10) have lost more matches on the road.

Fleetwood have had just one away draw this season, at Coventry, the joint lowest total in the Football League.

Don’t expect goals in Fleetwood matches, there has been just 57 in 29 games, the lowest in the division. Their goals for total is 28, which is more than only Crawley and Yeovil have managed but they have only conceded 29 themselves, giving them the joint fourth best defence in League One, only the top three teams have conceded less.
