Fleetwood manager Steven Pressley said:

"It was a deserved win for us today. I’m delighted for the players because I’ve said for some time that I don’t think they can give anymore than what they have been giving.

“I said to them at half time that we need to turn the performances into wins, and I was really pleased with the group today.

“Our level of performance was excellent and we showed a great mentality. Saturday nights are always a little bit more enjoyable when you win a game.

“We couldn’t continue playing as we were and working as hard as we were and end up with nothing to show for it at the end of the game.

“It couldn’t be this same story from us, and I thought we showed a great mentality like I say in the second half to score two goals.

“The most important thing today was winning because we found ourselves back in the bottom four prior to this afternoon’s game.

“We can’t hide from that fact and just have to face up to it. We need the courage and belief to keep playing even though we’re at that end of the table.

“When you’re in the position that we’re in it would be easy to resort to percentage football, but we’re trying to play in the right way.

“We’re trying to play slightly differently, and I understand our supporters get a little bit nervous when we play out but the players show a lot of belief. I’m really proud of them.”
