Beresford returning to Luton?

Reds goalkeeper Marlon Beresford could be set for a return to his former club Luton Town.

The 34-year-old enjoyed a successful three-month loan spell at Kenilworth Road last season.

Town boss Mike Newell said: "We've spoken to Marlon and we're very confident that we'll be able to do something there.

"It'll be one of those where we probably won't be able to do anything until we come back for training.

"But he needs to get his position sorted out at Barnsley first, that's the thing.

"We don't want to be paying them anything, particularly with the way they made the most of our situation last season to get him for free."

If Beresford left, the Reds would have no keeper with first team experience at the club so I suppose it depends if Paul Hart thinks he can sign a better replacement or not.
