Big Blow For Reds

Barnsley have been dealt a massive blow on the eve of a tough looking trip to Southampton tomorrow.

BOTH first-choice strikers Istvan Ferenczi and Kayode Odejayi are likely to be ruled out after sitting out today's training session at Reading.

Ferenczi's has an ankle problem whilst Odejayi has felt his hamstring tighten.

The strikers felt these injuries a couple of weeks ago but rest during the international break seemed to have cured the problems.

Simon Davey told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:

"We have been rocked a little this morning as Istvan's ankle has blown up again. He will not train with us today and we will give him every opportunity to be fit.

"Kayode was also in early for treatment this morning with a tight hamstring. He will not train today either which is a big blow and he is a huge doubt for the Southampton game".

This will force Davey to massively re-think his plans for tomorrows game at St Mary's Stadium.

He must decide whether to try a new partnership of Miguel Mostto and Kim Christensen- both of whom are yet to score for the first team or go 4-5-1 with one of those two playing as a lone striker.

Mostto did that job to very poor effect at Newcastle in the Carling Cup.
