Blackpool manager Neil McDonald said:

“Sometimes you don’t get what you deserve, but the attitude, the work-rate and them trying to do the right thing is getting better,” the manager said. “I think they’re getting to know each other a lot better, but results are vitally important and we should have had a result today.

"Ironically, we didn’t play very well at Scunthorpe last week yet we took three points. We dominated the game against a top of the table team today but come away with nothing.”

Interesting Stats:

By the Blackpool seaside has been a pleasant trip for Barnsley over the years. They have won 14 times there; only two behind Blackpool’s number of home wins over Barnsley.

Despite the last meeting there being only two years ago only one of the 36 players on duty that day remain at their respective club. That is Paul Digby who has made only a further 18 appearances since.

Two of the Reds line-up that day, David Perkins and Jacob Mellis have since left Oakwell, moved to Blackpool, played a combined total of 81 games for them and left the club.

Both clubs have also gone through four managers since that encounter.

The Reds have lost only two of their last 11 trips to Bloomfield Road and both of those (in 2013 and 2008) were by 1-0 score lines thanks to goals in the final four minutes.

Barnsley have scored 97 goals in 96 games against Blackpool.

Barnsley head to a club in crisis, as Blackpool who finished bottom of the Championship last season with just four wins they now sit second from bottom of League One having won just one and lost five of their opening seven games.

They have gone a staggering 12 games without a home win with Reds supporters hoping their side makes it the unlucky 13 tomorrow.

Eight of those 12 games have ended in defeat including all three this season.

The Seasiders have netted just once in front of their home supporters and conceded eight.

Blackpool have conceded at least two goals in six of their seven league games so far this season.
