Inform midfielder and current captain Brian Howard has laughed off reports linking him with a move to the Premiership.

Several newspapers have reported the likes of Everton, Aston Villa and Bolton keeping an eye on Howard who has shot to the top of the Championship scoring charts and is the highest scoring midfielder in the division with 6 goals in the opening 9 games.

Howard though insists, that having a signed a new deal at Oakwell in the summer he is staying put.

Howard told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:

"Barnsley Football Club is where my future lies. I signed a two year contract in the summer and I am going nowhere. You cannot pay any attention to what you read in the papers. To be honest those reports at the start of the week only made me more confident and determined to prove myself against Bristol City.

It has also been claimed the club have slapped a £3m price tag on the last remaining player in the Starting 11 from the Andy Ritchie era. For now it seems however Howard will continue to shine at Oakwell!
