Barnsley have though won 10 of the 15 meetings at Oakwell with Scunthorpe returnng home victorious just twice.

It is 54 years since the Iron left Oakwell with a win. They triumphed 1-0 back in March 1959 and have drawn three and lost 11 of the 14 visits since.

The two sides have met twice before in the League Cup, in a two legged First Round affair in 1980-81. The Reds won 1-0 at Glanford Park and 2-1 at Oakwell to go through 3-1 on aggregate. That year Barnsley reached the Fourth Round before bowing out 2-1 at West Ham.
