Well it's official. Stephen McPhail and Michael Chopra will not be wearing Barnsley shirts next season, they will be lining up in the blue of Cardiff City.
McPhail has decided not to renew his Oakwell contract after helping Barnsley win promotion whilst long time Red target Chopra will sign for Cardiff when his Newcastle contract expires at the end of June.
Barnsley are rumoured to be signing defender Steve Foster from Crewe Alexandra but judging by Crewe's relegation from the Championship this season he's hardly a “Box Office” signing that Patrick Cryne promised.
It's yet to be seen how the failure to sign McPhail and Chopra will hit the club next season.
