Clark Quits Blackpool

One of Barnsley’s opponents for 2015-2016 will be under new management after Lee Clark yesterday quit crisis club Blackpool.

The Seasiders who were a top flight outfit as recently as four years ago finished bottom of the Championship in 2014-2015 finishing with just 26 points, the lowest amount for a second tier side since Stockport also only gained 26 in 2002-2003.

Blackpool also failed to win a single away match for the first time since 1907-1908 and their final match of the season was halted after 48 minutes due to an on pitch fan protest.  All of this has seen former Huddersfield boss Clark call time on his tenure after just seven months and three victories.

Crawley, who were relegated from League One on the final day are also looking for a new manager to oversee a promotion push after John Gregory left the club.

The 60 year old started the season with victory over Barnsley at Oakwell and followed that up with a win over Swindon. However the former Aston Villa boss had to temporarily stand down in December to have heart surgery and his stand in Dean Saunders failed to keep the club up.
