The Reds have a pretty woeful home record against the men from Molinuex. Although they won the previous meeting, 1-0 back in 2002, they have only picked up 2 wins from their last 7 encounters at Oakwell and only 1 win in the last 11 meetings overall!!!

The last meeting between the two sides was that only win back in January 2002 at Oakwell when Mike Sheron scored the only goal after superbly taking a long punt from Kevin Miller and shooting low into the corner; The Reds were still relegated at the end of the season however.

Line-Ups:

Barnsley: Miller, Mulligan, Barker, Chettle, Morgan, Donovan, Lumsdon, Jones, Barnard, Dyer, Sheron.
Subs: Marriott, Ward, Neil, Crooks, Bertos.

Wolves: Oakes, Muscat, Robinson (Andrews 86), Lescott, Butler, Branch (Miller 64), Kennedy, Rae, Camara, Blake, Sturridge.
Subs: Naylor, Ndah, Murray.

Nobody remains from that game in the current Barnsley squad whereas only goal-keepers Michael Oakes and Matt Murray are still at Molinuex.

Wolves have been a great start to the Championship after Barnsley legend Mick McCarthy replaced Glenn Hoddle as manager.

They currently lie 3rd with 4 wins from their opening 7 games and could go top with victory at Oakwell today, last time out they defeated our neighbours Leeds United at Elland Road 1-0. But did lose to Derby at home in midweek. Wolves are still unbeaten away from home whilst The Reds are yet to register a Championship victory at Oakwell and go into this encounter on the back of a 4-2 defeat at Burnley in mid-week after throwing away a 2-0 lead. The Reds have also conceded the most goals in the ENTIRE Football League!!

Also intriguingly each of Wolves last 4 games have finished 1-0 but against a team like Barnsley who have scored the most in the Championship and conceded the most in the Football League I'm pretty sure that might change.
