Barnsley have a decent home record against Southampton having won 14 of the 24 meetings at Oakwell, including the last encounter, a thrilling 4-3 win back in the Premiership heydays.

The last six meeting have been see-saw however as both teams have won 3 each at Oakwell.

The two teams are very close at the beginning of the 2006-2007 season with Barnsley sitting 8th with 2 wins from 3 and 6 points whilst Southampton are right behind in 9th with 1 win and 2 draws from 3 and 5 points.

Southampton are unbeaten so far this season but only won 4 away matches last term.

Barnsley meanwhile haven't won at home since February 25th (a total of 8 matches)

Incidentally the last time The Reds won 3 games in a row was at the beginning of this year when they recorded three successive 2-0 victories over MK Dons, Nottingham Forest and Bristol City.
