Coca-Cola Championship Matchday Forty Six: Barnsley v Millwall

Last updated : 06 May 2011 By Rob Miles (BarnsleyBoy)

Team News:

Marlon Harewood, Jay McEveley and Danny Rose are the doubts for the final game of the 2010-2011 season. Harewood has missed the last two matches with a hamstring problem whilst Rose and McEveley had a freak clash of knees in training this week. Harewood is the most serious doubt.

Interesting Stats:

Millwall, like Norwich, have had a terrific first season back in the Championship after promotion, and only a 2-0 home defeat to Swansea last weekend finally ended their chances of making the play-offs. The Lions are on good form, winning six of their last 10 matches, and three of their last four on the road.

Tomorrow will be the 100th away match Millwall have played under current manager Kenny Jackett.

This will be only the second time the two sides have met since 2002 and the first at Oakwell since February 1996!

Barnsley are looking for only their third win in 17 games to wrap up another mediocre season. The Reds need to win the game to better their points tally from last season and thus achieve their best finish since returning to the division in 2006.

Both team’s goalkeepers are looking to achieve a significant milestone tomorrow. If Barnsley’s Luke Steele and Millwall’s David Forde complete the full 90minutes tomorrow afternoon it will mean they have played every minute of their club’s 2010-2011 league season. The last Barnsley goal-keeper to achieve this was David Watson in the club’s historic 1996-1997 promotion season.
