Lee Collins has joined League One Shrewsbury Town on a one -month loan deal, as he tries to re-ignite his career.

The 24 year old initially joined Barnsley on loan from Port Vale in March and made seven appearances at the back end of the 2011-2012 season.

The Wolves trainee signed permanently at Oakwell in the summer but has failed to make a single appearance in this campaign, although he has been an unused substitute in six of the nine league and cup matches prior to this weekend.

Collins played the full 90 minutes of the Shrews 1-0 home defeat to Swindon yesterday.

Meanwhile The Reds Academy side continue to make great strides and won their fourth league match in a row on Saturday, defeating league leaders and local rivals Leeds United 3-0 at Oakwell.

A Brad Abbott penalty on 25 minutes broke the deadlock before a brace from Rhys Oates sealed a very impressive victory. The young Tykes have now scored 17 goals in their last four matches in U18 Professional Development League 2 North.
