Barnsley striker Michael Coulson has vowed to repay the faith shown in him by manager Simon Davey as he nears a return to full fitness.

Coulson, 21 suffered his SECOND cruciate knee ligament injury in the space of a year back in January but is now eyeing an August return and with a new contract also in the offing he is keen to get back on the pitch.

He told
www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:

"Simon promised me the contract and he had stood by his word. Now I want to repay him by getting back fit. There's no way I am going anywhere else.

"I am down at Lilleshall this week for some intensive training and hopefully will be able to get back kicking a football again in the next fortnight. I then just have to build things up doing running work as well as some twisting and turning. I have my targets in mind and the middle of August will be six months post operation so hopefully I can look to that.
